We start the year with what do we learn in general music class, procedures, etc.
Here's just a basic list:
Music History - composers, music, instruments from Medieval to Present day
- 3B's, Music written for children, classical, jazz, pop, country, just to mention a few
Music notation - rhythm, pitch, harmony
-notes - quarter notes, half notes, rests...., ABCDEFG, chords,
- playing notes on instruments (guitar, bells, recorders, and rhythm instruments)
Terms - musical terms and what do they mean (rhythm, beat, meter, unison, harmony, metronome...)
- can we use terms to describe the music
Instruments, ensembles, famous musicians (past and present day)
Singing - Singing in unison, harmony, pitch, diction, tempo...
Performance - k-5 and some of our 6th-8th grade participate in 2 concerts every year.
